I am really hoping to get my weather station data on to my Mac as I don’t want to have a Windows machine simply as a weather display.
Using a Terminal Window, type the following: Would you be kind to tell us which one is working fine with you and what are the tricks to make it working. Run the resulting Tonto. When you run Tonto, it also brings up a console window with options to see the log files, clear caches, etc.
Please login or register. The link that dafuser provided does not work as it appears the server at geneder. It also appears that this Keyspan adapter is the most multi-os compatible adapter and should meet most needs in general.
If that’s what you’re going for I’d be interested in knowing a good mac terminal client to use with one of these.

You can now exit preferences. I may also stop by the Mac store and pick up a new one that is for sure Mac compatible. For Linux the PL Chipset is probably the best choice. It was a popular adapter using a common chipset.

Belkin F5U USB to Serial Driver for Mac OS X (and 64 bit Windows 7) – WLAN Book
Yves has a good idea in that I am resolved to having to buy a new serial to usb adaptor it would be helpful to know which ones have worked for others and what if anything they had to do to get them working.
Thanks Coyote, I’ll give that driver a try tonight although they don’t mention Belkin specifically.
Hoepfully someone else down the road will benefit from this thread. No universal remotes made today are as versatile as the original Philips Pronto line.
